Photographer - Harry Nowell
The art and photography of Chelsea Gallery are produced by Harry Nowell of Harry Nowell Photography Inc. From humble beginnings photographing at Sunshine Village Ski Resort in 1993 and assisting world renowned Malak Karsh, Harry has three commercial stock agencies licensing and presenting photo work on five continents. Photography workshops and events are also offered keeping student’s creative juices working on courses from photo fundamentals to international sports events.
Printing
Prints at ChelseaGallery.ca are individually produced, inspected and approved by Dave Andrews - who works with Headshots Rentals in Ottawa, Canada. He was chosen by ChelseaGallery.ca for his skill and passion in the colour printing world. In the event that Dave is unavailable (everybody needs a vacation!) ChelseaGallery.ca can uses two other fine printers in Ottawa/Gatineau that have proven their worth in the printing world!
Dave Andrews has worked on high profile printing projects such as the new 5 and 10 dollar bills for the Bank of Canada. Coming from a photography family - his father was a career photographer and his father’s father was an avid amateur - Dave says his printing work comes from “a place in me that gives me great joy in what I am doing, how it is being done and who I am doing it with.” Through this partnership Chelsea Gallery receives consistent and stable quality prints. In the event that Dave is unavailable (everybody needs a vacation!) ChelseaGallery.ca can uses two other fine printers in Ottawa/Gatineau that have proven their worth in the printing world!
Technical Details
The work is currently printed on an Epson 9800 using k3 Ultrachrome Inks and media including Lustre 260, Somerset Velvet and canvas. Read some independent reviews on the stability and archival longevity of prints from this combination of technology.
